Relaxing Tuesday

So I actually got up semi early yesterday, yes 9:00 is early for me! That is one of the great things about playing poker for a living, I have no boss to answer to and no set hours that I have to work. I guess that can also be a curse at times if I get lazy and don't play enough poker. Well, when I got up yesterday I started to get caught up on my messages and emails. I only have about 400 left to answer lol.

After answering some mail, I needed to get out of the house for awhile. My first stop was at the gym again, and I put in about a 45 minute workout. I am starting to get addicted to the workout thing again, which is a good addiction to have I suppose. After working out I hit the tanning bed again. I got a little burnt yesterday because I laid in there the full 20 minutes for the 2nd day in a row. I guess it really isnt a burn, more of a lil bit cherry red that better turn to brown! After the tanning bed I dropped into the book store for a bit for some coffee and some reading. I read some of Super System II, and it is fantastic. The limit holdem section by Jennifer Harman-Traniello is a must read. She is not only one of my favorite players, but one of the best limit holdem players in the world. Her insights into the game are truly priceless, and I hope to be able to implement some of her concepts into my game. She is also soooo adorable, and if you have ever seen her you know what I mean. She is so tiny and cute, but her game is more that of a 500 pound gorilla.

After reading for awhile it was time to head back home. I played some more on Pacific last night at first, and left down about $20. No biggie really, as you certainly can't expect to win every time that you sit down no matter how good you play. After playing at Pacific, I signed onto Empire to play a couple of single table tournaments. The buy ins for the ones I played are $109 and they pay 3 places (first is $500 2nd is $300 and 3rd is $200). I finished out of the money in two of them, but I won the 3rd won. I got $500 for it, I left Empire up $173. Total for the day was + $153 between both sites, so that I can live with.

After that I just relaxed on the couch for an hour or so before I hit the hay. I needed some good quality time with the couch, I think mine has been feeling neglected lately lol. After a couple of days in a row of not going out, I am ready to go tonight! I will post more about it tomorrow.

Monday Poker

Yesterday I put in a nice, long day at the tables. I played for about 8 hours total, both at Pacific and Empire. I was able to book a win of about $175 which I was satisfied with seeing that I lost to a number of 2 outers on the river. I played 5-10 limit yesterday, which is on the small side of what I normally play. I had been playing alot of 10-20 recently but the 5-10 games looked too good to pass up.

As per request from a few of my readers, I will be posting some times next week that I will be playing so that some of you can join me for a game. On the times that I post, I will be playing small stakes, like 25cents/50 cents or 50cents/1dollar so that we can keep it to more of a friendly game. I love to chat while I play, but I don't want to lose a bunch of money by being too chatty. At these stakes we can keep it friendly for all parties involved :) At those times, I will most likely be playing at Pacific so get signed up if ya wanna come play or if you just wanna swing by to say hello. Look for a post next week with the times, and I also want to hold a private tourney so look for a post on that. I have to email some of the rooms to see if someone will hold a private tourney for us. I don't want a bunch of random people that don't even read here to sign up so I need to see which room will make it private for us.

Surprise, surprise- your resident poker lush didn't even have one drink yesterday lolol. I figured I better take a breather and let my system recoup from all of the alcohol I have been torturing it with. So no real crazy stories from yesterday. Just played a bunch of poker and went and worked out again. I did do one of the yoga classes while I was at the gym, gotta keep the flexibility intact ;) I have done that class a couple of times, and most of the people there are all really cool. I also went and got a membership at the tanning bed, gotta make sure I get rid of all the tan lines because summer is practically here. Well, layout weather is here anyway. It is so relaxing for me as well, as soon as I lay down in that thing I am out like a light. Hope you gals and guys have a great night!

Saturday and Sunday

On Saturday I woke and feeling kinda blah, so I went and renewed my membership at the gym. I have been playing lots of poker and doing lots of drinking recently (and would later that night too lol), so I felt like I need a daily workout to balance it all out. I rode on the stationary bike for 30 mins and then shot some basketball too. After that, I did a ton of crunches and worked on an ab machine some too. The workout was awesome, and I usually play much better poker after getting some excersize.

When I got back home I took a nice long bath and then signed on to Pacific to play a couple hours of poker. I found a really juicy 10-20 limit holdem game that had like 70% of the players seeing the flop. Games like that are really profitable, but they are also usually high variance meaning you usually win or lose a good chunk of change. I felt like I played some really great poker, and I booked a nice $350 win. It was nice to get back a portion of the money I blew playing drunk the other night. The games at Pacific are awesome, I just wish that I could play more than 1 game at a time.

My friend Hank's birthday is today, but we celebrated it on Saturday because his girlfriend was in town. About 12 of us got together and went out to eat at Japanese restaurant. I got the jumbo shrimp, and it was really delicious and also came with appetizer shrimp, fried rice, veggies, and sherbert. If you have read any of my previous entries, you know I wouldn't dare go out to eat without getting my drink on too :) I had 3 vodka tonics before and during dinner, but most of my drinks that night were Sake. We got like 8 half litres between the 12 of us, and I think 3 or 4 people were not even drinking it. Sake is yummy, and I have to have mine hot. Some people like it cold, but I just gotta have mine hot. Our cook was awesome too, and he joined in on the Sake fun with us. Japanese restaurants like that where they cook the food in front of you usually have such a party atmosphere and almost always makes for a good time. Saturday was certainly no exception with the group that we had there. A group of the waitstaff got out the drums and we all sang happy birthday to Hank. I am betting that alot of the other people in the restaurant were wishing that they had some ear plugs ;) They also brought over a big Buddha statue that Hank rubbed for good luck. After dinner we all went over to my friend Kyle's house and just chilled and had some cocktails.

Sunday was pretty relaxing day. I got up fairly early and got in a workout for the 2nd day in a row. After that my friend Katie and I went to an oyster roast at a local pub. We only stayed for about 2 hours, but we feasted on oysters while we were there. There was a big crowd out, and most everyone was watching the final round of the Masters. The final round ended up being alot more exciting than I thought it would. With Tiger taking a 3 shot (or was it 4?) lead into the final round, I expected it to pretty much be a walkover. I guess Chris Dimarco had different plans, as he played a great final round and ended up sending it to a playoff. Tiger made a nice put on the first playoff hole to earn his fourth green jacket.

After the golf was done I went home and signed onto to Empire. I wasn't really in the mood to play for too much money, so I just signed up for a couple of multi table tournaments. I barely made it into the money in one of them, but I only doubled my $55 buy in. I didn't have any success in the other one, but that's the way tournament poker goes- you can't cash in all of them no matter how well you play. I plan on playing alot today, probably on Empire so I can multi table- but I might play Pacific if I find a really good game.

Will you remind me, NO more drunk poker?

Ok, so the last two days were fantastic days for me at the poker tables. I won about $1800 on Empire playing 5-10 and 10-20. Had an incredible rush of cards coupled with tables full of really bad players. I was in heaven for almost two days straight. It seemed like I was getting so many pocket pairs and big hands like A-K and A-Q, and almost always connecting on the flop and having people chase me all the way down until the river. Recently the players on Empire have been even worse than normal, I think in large part to the World Series of Poker promotions that they have been running. They are giving away a total of 50 seats to the main event of The World Series of Poker. This is a fantastic promo for a couple reasons. First of all the seats are worth $10,000 each (50 of them!!), secondly it is bringing in many more inexperienced players to my games which in turns make the purse a lil bit heavier to tote around :)

So after playing some great poker for two days, I decided that I would go out and celebrate last night! I went out with my buddies Kyle and Whitney to a lil Mexican place that whips up some great Margaritas. They are so yummy, and they go down soooooo easy. While we were there I had about 8 or 9 Margaritas with a couple shots and some fajitas sandwiched inbetween them. Yeah yeah I know, I am a lush and I am proud of it! I had not seen Kyle and Whitney in awhile, and we really had an awesome time. We asked the bartenders to put their sombreros on and dance around the bar and sing for us, and they were all too happy to oblige. They are extremely white guys, with no rhythm and no singing voices whatsoever that in turn made it quite a funny scene. So of course when they were done, they also asked Whitney and I to put on the sombreros and give it a whirl. Poor Kyle, they didnt even ask him LOL. We of course could not say no, and took our turn dancing around like fools with these huge sombreros on. We turned what is usually a fairly calm Mexican restaurant/bar in to quite a raucous party. I was pleased :)

Soooooo anyways when I got home, I of course decided I would sign on to Empire and play some poker totally smashed. NOT A GOOD IDEA. I am not sure how long I played before I passed out still signed on and sitting at the table, but when I signed back on today I had lost in excess of $1,000. I don't know if I would have had a hangover otherwise, but I sure as hell did after I saw my account balance at Empire. I need to hook a breathalyzer up my computer that will not allow me to turn it on if I am smashed. A little gadget like that would save me a bundle of money. Please remind me, NO MORE DRUNK ASS POKER!

Catching Up..

Ok, so yesterday I didn't post to my blog or answer very many emails. I am getting a ton of mail now, as my inbox currently has a few hundred messages in it. I looked at it yesterday, and I was like oh my god I have some serious writing to do. So what does any reasonable person do? Look at them, get extremely frustrated and turn the computer off lol. So what did I do yesterday then? Well let's start with day before yesterday first, seeing that I am currently a day behind :)

As most of you know, the NCAA championship game was on night before last. Instead of going out (again), I invited some friends over to my condo to hang out and watch the game. I had a small get together that consisted of about 12 people. Three of the people there were UNC grads so as you can imagine it turned into a UNC lovefest. My new best friend Katie was there, but more on her in a bit. The game ended up being pretty good. UNC was obviously the more talented team, though Illinois put up a great fight. But should you expect anything different from a team that had only lost one game prior to the championship game? It seemed as though everytime UNC seemed like they were about to pull away, Illinois would go on a run and hit some 3 pointers. It was a very entertaining game.

We had a blast hanging out while watching the game. My friend Tim brought the Jager and Red Bull and was making Jagerbombs for everyone throughout the game. Those things are yummy, they taste like cotton candy. My friend Beth brought over some Jello shots. I didn't know anyone still do those things anymore, made me feel like I was 16 again ;). As for the food we were going to grill out some steak and chicken, but we went the delivery route instead. Pizza and Chinese, what an interesting combo lol.

I was glad my friend Katie made it, she has become my new best bud. She was actually the first person that I met through the computer, and it was kind of strange how we started talking. I was sitting in a game at Empire Poker and noticed someone was from the same area as me. The person was playing with a guy icon as was I. I do that because it seems people try to run me over if they think they are playing against a female, and I have been much more profitable with a male avatar. Well anyways, one of her friends came into the game to talk with her, and they were like what's up Katie. When the guy avatar responded to being called Katie, I busted out laughing. It seems as though I wasn't the only one that had the bright idea of playing with a guy avatar. The avatars are all generic computer generated people meaning it's not a pic of a real person, but still it was funny to have two girls from the same city doing the same thing. Katie and I struck up a conversation all the time laughing our asses off. From then on out we would always look for each other online and try to sit in the same games. Poker can get pretty tedious at times, but Katie's wild ass always makes the games fun. We talked on the phone and in games for awhile, and after a couple of weeks we finally met. Katie is even more crazy in person than on the computer! We instantly got along great when we met, and I see her almost everyday now. She has not been playing poker as long as I have, so I guess she is my prodigy of sorts. She does pretty well, but she needs some coaching every now and again ;) I will post again later on how my day went yesterday, but I have a couple of things to do around here first.

A lazy day

If you read yesterday's entry, then you know I had long, long evening night before last. Yesterday it was time to recoup, and I did just that seeing that I slept in until about 2:30 or 3:00 in the afternoon. I even skipped my usual workout/jog yesterday because I was so exhausted/hung over. I was so lazy that I didn't even get out of my summertime pajamas all day long ;)

I did play a little poker in the evening last night. I signed on to Pacific Poker and sat down at a 10-20 limit table. I played for 2 hours and booked a win of about $120. Not that much mind you, but for 2 hours and being hung over I will take it :) Most of the players are so bad at Pacific that you can make money when you are not even playing your best poker. I guess some of the people there have so much money that they can just give it away. Well, as you can imagine I am happy to relieve them of their money lol. It can be frustrating to play there sometimes, as the games often turn into "showdown poker" meaning there are almost always a few people in until the end of the hand (no one likes to fold). But with a little patience, it's a nice place to make some cash.

Wild night last night

I have not gone to sleep yet, so as you can imagine I am kinda tired ;) The post might be a lil short because I am so exhausted.

Well anyways, I went out with some of my girlfriends last night. We went out and had a wonderful dinner overlooking the ocean. The food was absolutely wonderful as well. I had the king crab legs, and they were melt in your mouth good. We started off with a couple of bottles of wine at dinner, but of course we ended up taking shots before we even left the restaurant ;) After we finished up dinner, we decided we would go dancing for awhile. After about 30 minutes of being there, we had a great idea! We decided we would rather have people dance for us than dance all night ourselves lol. So yeah, me and my 5 girls (more on these crazies in a later post) headed on over to strip club for a little fun. I havent been to one in about a year or so, and I was amazed at some of the beautiful girls in there. Last time I went I thought they looked a little trailer trash-ish, so I was happy with the selection this time :) I ended up gettin pretty intoxicated there as evidenced by my purchase of 3 dances in the back. It is so nice to be a girl when you are getting a dance in the back. My guy friends tell me about the "hands off" dances they receive in the back, and I just giggle.

Well, me and the girls ended up taking 2 guys home with us to hang out for a bit. We played some quarters and asshole for awhile, then we decided to play some strip poker (right up my alley!). Everyone there was absolutely terrible at Poker, so it was quite a funny sight. I think I had taken off maybe one or two articles of clothing while the rest of them were completely naked. It was quite funny to be the only one at the table with any clothes on lol. A couple of my girls are crashed here in the spare bedroom, and I think Ima go get some shuteye too.

Come play poker with me at Pacific (my alias there is bbarron) or at Empire (my alias there is deucesrolled)

Yesssss a nice tourney win!!

As you can tell by the title, I am kind of excited about the win :) Last night I won a multi table tournament on Empire, and I took home a little over $3,000 for the victory. Some of you may have bigger tournament wins, but let me enjoy my little win a lil :) The tournament started pretty slowly for me, as I did not get many hands that I could play for the first hour. We started with $1,000 in tournament chips, and I had about $900 after the first hour. I won a little more in the second hour, but only had about $1,800 after the 2nd hour (which was below average). The tournament really started going well for me on the first hand of the 3rd hour. I limped into the pot with AA and so did two other players as well as both blinds. The flop came down A93 which was obviously a great flop for me. Both of the blinds checked, I checked, and the next player to act moved all in! Not only that but one other player called as well. Needless to say I called as well, and my set of aces held up for a huge win. The tourney ended up lasting nearly 5 hours, and I was exhausted when it was done.

I am thinking of going to Vegas for a couple of days this week to party mostly, but I am sure I will play some poker as well if I decide to go. Wish me luck!

Come play with me anytime at Pacific (my username there is bbarron) or at Empire (my username is deucesrolled). It's also nice when people drop in and say hello :)

About My Poker Life...

I have been playing poker nearly 4 years. I first started out playing with my ex boyfriend and a group of his friends in a home game. I was absolutely terrible at first, as are most people when they first start playing. However, I was a very quick learner. I have been playing games such as spades, hearts, and chess for much longer and I feel like the experience in other games has helped out my poker game alot.

As for live poker now, I still have a home game or two around where I play with friends. However, they play for pretty small stakes so it is really more for fun than anything when I play with them. I also sometimes play at the Commerce Casino in LA as well as the Bicycle Casino. I only go to the Commerce and the Bike maybe once a month or so, as I play most of my poker online now.

People always ask why I play so much online when I have casinos near by. The answers are actually quite simple. First of all, I can make alot more money playing online. The hands are dealt faster, you can play more than 1 table at once, the rakes are lower, and you have no dealer to tip! All of these make it much more profitable to play online. There are also other benefits to playing online. I don't think I could get away playing in just my panties in a casino, whatta ya think? It is so nice to be comfortable when I play, I think it helps me win more. I can also talk on the phone when I play, chat with friends that are in my game or watching my game, or even check my emails while I am playing. I play mainly at Pacific Poker and Empire Poker. I play under the name bbarron on Pacific Poker and deucesrolled on Empire Poker. Click here to sign up at Pacific or here to sign up at Empire. If you sign up at Empire, the signup bonus code BONUS346 will get you 20% added to your first deposit (no spaces, BONUS346 is just as it looks) I always welcome people that I know to come by and chat while I am playing. Feel free to hop in my game as well, though I will not go easy on ya :) I play a variety of games online, but mostly limit holdem. Depending on how things are going or how many tables I am playing I can be found at as low as 3/6 limit tables, or as high as 15/30 limit tables. I also like to play no limit holdem tourneys as well. Come by and see if you have what it takes to beat me. I promise I won't bite (or maybe I will if that's what you like LOL)

A little about me.....

I wanted to start off my blog by telling you guys and gals a little about me. My name is Michelle and I am currently living in Cali. I have condo in both LA and in San Diego, and I love both places and wish I could be in two places at the same time :) I also have a condo in NY, but unfortunately I have not spent much time there recently. I plan on changing that soon as I plan on going to NY at least once a month. If any of you know of a good poker game in the NY area please let me know as I have never had the chance to play when I have been in NY. I also travel to other places quite frequently including Myrtle Beach, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, and Hawaii.

I am single right now, and I have never been married and I do not have any young 'uns either. And no, I don't want any at the moment either (though it is fun to practice ;) ) . I will get to the poker part of me shortly, just gettin the other stuff out of the way first. I am 21 years old at the moment, though I do have birthday comin up very soon. No need for an in depth physical description, as you can see my picture in my profile if you want. I have no intention of gettin married anytime soon, as there are just too many fish in the sea for me to choose just one right now :) Honestly though I have not been on many dates recently as I have been playing so much poker! My ideal date would be hard to describe as I like to do so many things. A good date could be a night on the couch snuggling watching a movie, a night at the club, or even a get together with friends for some erotic games (however do not expect that on the first date- ok maybe the 2nd lol). I have been known to do some very, lets just say flirty things while playing poker . Look for poker info about me in my next post! That's enough personal stuff for now, I will post some more later.

Me :) Posted by Hello
